The “I”

What is certain is that the future holds both promise and uncertainty in equal measure.

To prosper as individuals, we need to be more self-aware and capable of renewal, whilst staying connected to valuable norms and cultures that ground and connect us. The challenge is to know which of these still serve us, and which do not.

To thrive, we require the ability to rewire our own thinking, beliefs and behaviours to adapt as our environments and societies incessantly change shape around us.

The more self-aware and resilient individuals are, the more capacity they will have to care about their environment, their neighbours and their societies.

Opening a Socio-economic Resilience Development Centre

If you want to change a nation, you need to change one person and one village at a time.

After obtaining resilience coaching status in 2015, Salients established Numendi, a centre for resilience and transformation skills development. Numendi’s purpose is to upskill learners in intra and inter-personal resilience development.

The curriculum addresses the 5 elements of resilience and covers core themes such as identity development, wellbeing development, social pattern recognition, social transformation and economic impact development.

Six community resilience development coaches qualified through Numendi now lead social transformation initiatives for OMD 2030, a Namibian community organisation created to help transform a purpose -built mining town’s mindset to become more inclusive and entrepreneurial.
